February 11 2025

Cherry Hill Volvo Cars, a female owned and operated retailer, is happy to share that Volvo Cars has been awarded the newly established Sandy Myhre Award by Women's Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY), recognizing its commitment to women in the automotive industry. This prestigious award highlights efforts in workplace inclusion, product design, and advertising, with a focus on addressing women’s mobility needs.

The WWCOTY jury, consisting of 82 female motoring journalists from 55 countries, praised Volvo for its long-standing commitment to gender equality. Notable achievements include using pregnant crash-test dummies since 1995, promoting gender diversity in the workforce, and supporting programs like Girls Who Code to close the gender gap in tech. Volvo's efforts to empower women and integrate their needs into both car design and workplace culture earned high praise, with journalists emphasizing the company’s dedication to balancing family and career for women. The award is named after Sandy Myhre, a pioneering New Zealand motoring journalist and WWCOTY founder.
